Emily Muecke,

I would be honored to work with you to make the changes you need to have peace and balance in your life.  I work with individuals, families and couples using compassion, warmth and humor. I believe everyone has the tools within them to reach their goals, but sometimes we need some guidance along the way and just a thread of hope.

My Philosophy

It can be extremely difficult to find peace and happiness in this fast-paced, high-pressure world we live in.  Sometimes trying to juggle the pressures of family, career and relationships can make us feel as if we are failing miserably while everyone else seems to effortlessly have it all together.  Just hoping things will get better isn’t working, and all this effort can leave you feeling stressed, lonely and sad.  You know it’s time to seek help and your well being depends on it!

All people need to feel understood. To have someone really see you and “get” you can be powerful. As a therapist, my goal is for you to feel truly heard and understood while helping you to better understand yourself. Whether you are feeling down, overwhelmed, stuck in an unhappy relationship, grieving a loss or even just trying to find your purpose, it is my goal to help you heal and find your happiness.

Binge Eating Disorder Counseling & Pre-Bariatric Surgery Psychological Evaluations

Emotional Eating and Binge Eating Disorder can be a painful cycle of shame, secrecy and using food to cope.  Learning to identify what leads to a binge, making peace with food and quitting diets are just a few pieces in the process of treatment. If you are having bariatric surgery, therapy can help your relationship with food, your body and navigating the emotional and physical changes post surgery.
